WIDEF and the National Human Rights Commission host the High-Level Stakeholders Consultation on Digital Rights in Nigeria

World Impact Development Foundation (WIDEF) in partnership The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and other partners cordially invite key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, civil society, media, and the international community to join us at the High-Level Stakeholders Consultation on Digital Rights in Nigeria.

The event is scheduled for Thursday, October 31st 2024 by 9:00 am at the National Human Rights Commission (No. 19 Aguyi Ironsi Street, Maitama, Abuja, Nigeria.

The event will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders including civil society organizations, policymakers, legal experts, and human rights advocates and the media to address the pressing need to safeguard digital rights in Nigeria.

The central theme of this program focuses on the challenges posed by digital censorship, surveillance and data privacy breaches, which have contributed to the shrinking of civic space in the country. As digital technologies continue to evolve, ensuring that the rights of Nigerians are protected in the digital space is essential to fostering freedom of expression, access to information, and the overall preservation of human rights.

This event is funded by the Fund for Global Human Rights through the Action Group on Free Civic Spaces.
