At World Impact Development Foundation (WIDEF), we believe in the power of information and media literacy to create informed and empowered communities. That’s why we were excited to actively participate in the Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2023, in response to UNESCO’s invitation. The event covered a wide range of crucial issues, from combating misinformation to promoting digital literacy among youth. It provided a valuable platform for sharing insights and fostering discussions on the critical issues surrounding media and information literacy.

During the event, our team engaged in various activities, including workshops, panel discussions, and networking sessions. We had the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts and learn about innovative strategies and best practices in media and information literacy. One of the highlights of the event was the focus on combatting misinformation. In today’s digital age, the spread of false information poses a significant threat to society. Through our participation, we gained valuable insights into effective strategies for identifying and combating misinformation, as well as promoting digital literacy among young people.

Overall, our participation in the Global Media and Information Literacy Week 2023 was incredibly enriching and inspiring. It reaffirmed our commitment to promoting media and information literacy in our community and equipped us with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact.

As we continue our work at WIDEF, we will build on the insights and lessons learned during this event to further our mission of creating informed, empowered, and resilient communities. We are grateful to UNESCO for organizing this important event and look forward to future opportunities for collaboration and learning.
